Hunza® has introduced a new Anti-Siphon cable attachment designed to counter the problem of wicking, or siphoning, of moisture through the electric supply cable into the lamp housing. This siphoning causes water to condense and can shorten the life of the lamp, the lamp holder and the fitting itself.

Siphoning is caused by the expansion and contraction of air inside the fitting due to heat generated by the lamp. When the fitting is switched off, the cooling air inside creates considerable suction inside the fitting and its supply cable. A poor or leaking cable joint connecting the fitting cable and transformer cable will allow this suction to siphon moisture up the cable directly into the light fitting. The Anti-Siphon cable attachment is designed to prevent this.

The Anti-Siphon cable attachment is fitted as standard to the majority of Hunza® fittings.
